David Welsh joined Focus Building Company in October 2014 as Design & Bid Manager, bringing more than 40 years of experience in design and construct delivery. His career has included work with major developers and contractors across a broad range of private and commercial projects, earning him a strong reputation for leadership, technical expertise and successful project outcomes.

Before joining Focus, David was an Equity Partner of an architectural and quantity surveying practice in London, where he led the Design and Build division and managed a team of more than 70 staff. His qualifications include membership of BIAT (British Institute of Architectural Logistics), study at Hertfordshire College of Building, and recognition through the BPTW National Award of Architectural Practice of the Year in 2005. He is also a Chair of Innovation workshops, focused on bringing modern building techniques to the construction marketplace, and has contributed to award-winning projects recognised through the MBA Excellence in Construction Awards.

Since joining Focus, David has played a central role in pre-construction, working closely with the estimating team and project stakeholders to develop value-managed, cost-effective design solutions that align with client objectives, buildability and commercial performance. He is highly regarded for his collaborative, solutions-focused approach and his ability to drive project success through clear leadership, disciplined coordination and a strong understanding of technical, regulatory and commercial requirements.
