David joined Focus Building Company in 2014 as Design/Bid Manager after 4 years in a similar role with Built Environs. Initially, his role was to strengthen the team by focusing on the design aspects of development projects. He is an integral part of all aspects of management of the business and in January 2015 was appointed a director of the company. 

David has 27 years of experience in a design and construct environment working with major developers and contractors. His expertise includes providing a structured environment at the pre-construction stage to deliver value managed designs, when he works closely with the estimating team to deliver innovation and cost effective design alternatives.

David was a partner of an Architectural and Quantity Surveying practice in London from 1993 – 2005 employing in excess of 70 staff. He was the partner in charge of their Design and Build division. The practice won the “BPTW National Award of Architectural Practice Of The Year” for 2005.

In 2019, David was appointed General Manager of Focus Building Company.  In addition to his overall management role, David continues to drive Bid Management and Design Management within the company. David is an industry leader in the area of Design Management, particularly in an ECI contracting format.
